When Preston House opened its doors in Glenrothes in November 2009 it became the latest addition to the Kingdom Homes Limited group of prestigious care homes. The 60 bedroom nursing facility is now at the forefront of care in Fife with 58 large single rooms and two large double rooms for couples. All bedrooms have en suite toilet and wet floor shower facilities.
Preston House, Alburne Park Glenrothes
Preston House has been designed to meet and indeed surpass all current safety regulations and requirements. A state of the art sprinkler system, addressable fire alarm system allowing immediate identification of the source of any fire and swing free door closers feature throughout the building to enhance the safety of residents and staff. Wide corridors with fixed handrails aid less mobile and wheelchair bound residents and low surface temperature radiators create a safer environment for all.
From the underground car park residents and visitors have access directly into the basement of the building and can come and go without being exposed to the weather. Two lifts provide access to the ground and upper floors.
An attractive reception greets those arriving on foot with seating where residents can also relax and meet visitors to the building. The ground floor lounges and dining areas have direct access to the beautifully laid out grounds where there are seating areas so that the gardens may be appreciated at leisure.
Nestling in a semi rural setting but only one mile from the bustling centre of Glenrothes and the town's bus station, Preston House is also well placed for the surrounding towns of Kirkcaldy and Leven. With regular outings to the shops and to shows at the likes of the nearby Rothes Halls in Glenrothes and other attractions in the Company's minibus there is always plenty to do. A very busy schedule of events ranging from exercise classes to reminiscence sessions and games take place within Preston House.
Kingdom Homes also run a number of residents clubs including a car club, wildlife club, photography club and a creative writing group to name but a few. Residents from all eight care homes in the group may attend these clubs should they choose to do so.
