aubrietia and pansies in bloom.
The weeks of hard work by Kingdom Homes gardeners and labourers during construction of Preston House last year is really beginning to show rewards. Whilst the home was being built a team was also busy planning and laying out the gardens. Once the ground was cleared and topsoil brought in to create levels, around 2000 daffodil and 1200 crocus bulbs were planted which added a great splash of colour in early spring. Turf was laid to give instant lawns. The aubrietia and pansies are currently in full bloom and provide a cheerful welcome to visitors coming into the home.
The garden is now the responsibility of Mike Grieve, Kingdom Homes gardener, who keeps the gardens at all eight care homes looking their best from season to season, providing a pleasant place for residents and guests to sit and enjoy a breath of fresh air in the good weather.
